Wait, can I eat crackers on keto?

When I started on my low carb journey, I quickly missed one of my favorite carb-obsessions. Crackers. All the crackers. Big crackers, little crackers, flavored crackers, plain crackers. Now that I know there are easy low carb crackers that you can make, I’m enjoying food that much more. Oh, and did I mention, these are made with only 2 basic ingredients?!

How do you make Keto crackers?

That pic above? It’s that simple. Almond flour and egg. Now, you have to like / be able to eat almonds, so if you have a nut allergy, these won’t work. And I haven’t tried other flours (as of this posting), so I can’t speak for other recipes. If I do try some, I’ll be sure to update this post, so it’s a perfect opportunity to subscribe!

I didn’t use the finest almond flour for these crackers. You can see that it’s a little grainy. That’s OK. It still bakes up fine. I think if you use different brands of flour you would want to check while it’s baking to make sure it’s not burning. I’ve also rolled mine a little thick. There’s no baking powder in these so they are what they are. No rising, no spreading.

rolling out dough

I rolled the keto almond cracker dough out on my silicone mat and sliced with a knife. This would have been a great opportunity to use the pizza cutter that my daughter took with her when she moved out. Not complaining – just sayin’. I was able to get about 30 out of my batter. It’s obviously going to vary based on how

Add flavor to keto almond crackers

I added salt to these as the only additional seasoning. But you could add any flavor that would work with almonds:

  • Ranch
  • Everything but the Bagel Seasoning
  • Taco seasoning
  • Pepper
  • Rosemary
  • Onion
  • Garlic

I miss crackers too, cheese on cucumber just doesn't do it for me. I'm new to keto so I'm wondering if you have the carbs figured out, even approx, for these. I will try them anyway……. Thanks, Lori

These are wonderful. Work really well. I’m going to try a sweet batch with cinnamon and sweetener added.

These turned out great! I know I can thin them even more next time! Even the thinner edges held the firmness needed for dipping! I took photos too! I will add them if I get that opportunity!

I am trying these after trying other crackers that really never got hard enough to dip or put a spread on. I am baking on the silicone baking sheets, which I used to roll them out on. I used seasonal all and garlic salt in the dough to slightly to season them. Excited to see great results! Thank you.
