We’re that family… It happens too often that it’s 4:30 and there’s nothing thawed or fresh that we can figure to throw together for a healthy dinner. So one of us will either stop by the store or pick up the phone. Without meal prep we’re lost.
I was contacted by Terra’s Kitchen to attend an event here in Richmond to learn about their service which seemed like the answer to our problem. Terra’s Kitchen is a new innovative meal-kit delivery service delivering farm-to-front door fresh, seasonal ingredients that are pre-portioned and prepped for skillet-ready, chef-designed recipes. Each meal can be made in 30 minutes or less – and hearing that, I knew I needed to learn more.
Their mission is simple. Get familes to the table together for healthy meals. So the prep is taken care of for you, the ingredients are simple, and you CAN make dinner in under 30 minutes. Like other meal kit dinner services, you choose from their menu and can customize the number of meals.
They won me over with the delicious dinner prepared at the event…
Tacos! So fresh and light and yes, Beck would love!! #tkrichmond #rvadine
…and the cool delivery vessel which is dropped off on your scheduled delivery day and picked up the next.
Your @terraskitchen ingredients are delivered to your home. The package, which they call a vessel, is picked up the next day from your front porch… #tkrichmond #rvadine A video posted by Lifestyle Blogger (@lindasellers) on
But the test would come when we tried the service – could we really do this ourselves?
So far we’ve enjoyed three meals and, yes – all were prepared (by me!) in less than 30 minutes with their pre-packaged ingredients. Even down to the vinegar, mustard and soy sauce packets.
And the food was as delicious as it looks!
If I could change anything? The packaging took up a lot of room in our fridge – and we have a smaller fridge. All the fresh ingredients took up almost the whole top shelf.
Maggie and I also felt that portions were small for the salmon. For two of the dinners, we decided to add another side. And that’s something we didn’t quite decide until we were cooking.
The recipe cards are definitely something we’ll keep and use again. I feel like an actual chef!
