Lemon butter everything seasoning salmon has become a staple in our house. I’ve been on a low carb diet for some time and salmon is the perfect protein to keep on hand – it’s a staple in our house. With zero carbs, salmon is a great lean protein for your keto diet.

What seasonings go well with salmon?

We’re using Trader Joe’s Everything but the Bagel seasoning on our salmon, and it’s one of our favorites. But there are many seasonings that go well with this lean fish such as dill, rosemary, lemon & pepper, horseradish and mustard.

Is everything seasoning salmon OK on keto?

Yes! It’s perfect for a ketogenic diet. Low in carbs, many keto salmon recipes work for a paleo or whole30 diet as well. Salmon is one of the most common fish used in keto recipes. It’s not only rich in protein but is a great source of omega-3 fatty acids – and it’s got a great flavor that pairs well with lower carb veggies like zucchini and broccoli.

Keto salmon works for my lifestyle because it’s quick and easy to cook. You’ll find lots of great salmon recipes, but the everything seasoning used in this recipe really gives it a flavor burst – don’t be afraid to add a lot of seasoning. And with the butter and lemon, it’s pretty fabulous.

How do you cook salmon?

Look for the best salmon you can buy. And if cooking salmon steaks like we are here, they cook best / evenly if the thickness is consistent. How long do you cook it? For every half-inch of salmon, bake in the oven for 5 -6 minutes. The recommended internal temp is 145 degrees F. Make sure you check this in the thickest part of the steak.

Best Keto Seafood

Salmon and other fish are very low carb and a great option. They are also rich in vitamins and . Shellfish is different, and you’ll need to do your research. For instance, shrimp and crab are carb-free, but some shellfish like clams, mussels, oysters are higher in carbs. Just keep an eye on your macros.

Everything Seasoning Lemon Butter Salmon

Ingredients

  • 1 lb salmon (cut into 3 steaks)
  • 3 TBS melted butter
  • 3 TBS Trader Joe's Everything but the Bagel Seasoning
  • 1 Lemon

Instructions

  1. In an 8x8 baking dish, melt the 3 Tbs of butter.
  2. Place the 3 salmon steaks in the dish side by side.
  3. Cut the lemon in half, cutting 3 slices to lay on top of each salmon steak.
  4. Squeeze the remaining lemon onto the salmon.
  5. Using a turkey baster, extract some of the butter and braise the salmon with it.
  6. Bake at 450 degrees. Bake for 5-6 minutes for each 1/2 inch thickness of salmon.
