Keto Old Bay Cheddar Biscuits

Sharing is caring!

Still craving bread on the keto diet? I found a few recipes, but none that really spoke to me. Yes, I want bread so much I might be hearing things. This recipe for biscuits seemed to work out pretty well, and I added cheddar cheese and Old Bay just to up the salt game.

If you’re craving those Red Lobster biscuits, but can’t because you’re low carb, relax! We’ve got a recipe to curb your cravings and satisfy your need for a savory treat.

Are keto biscuits easy to make?

Yes – these are super easy to make. Yes, it’s a mix and bake recipe. The best part, no kneading needed. I love recipes that only use one bowl to make, and this one fits that bill!

Yes! it’s bready. But because it’s made with almond flour, it’s also a little gritty. Drenching it in grass fed butter when you nom on it is always preferred. Mine were crumbly enough that I’m not sure you could have cut them to make a biscuit sandwich – but I might try it with the next batch.

Make sure you buy an extra fine almond flour too. Don’t mistake it for almond meal as that will have a completely different texture. What do I prefer? I always love the Anthony’s brand of almond flour and use their products for many of my keto recipe needs

Every bite is full of Old Bay goodness. Serve these for breakfast if you want something savory. Or serve them with your favorite crab soup. I, personally, have a few at lunch with some extra cheese melted in – a double cheese biscuit.

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cup almond flour (I use this one)
  • 1 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 3 tbsp grass fed butter, sliced thin
  • 1/4 cup heavy whipping cream
  • 1 egg
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp Old Bay Seasoning (or more if you want!)
  • 3/4 cup shredded cheddar cheese

Instructions

Mix the dry ingredients with the butter slices. You're mixing the butter in until the mixture is kinda crumbly. Then add the egg and cream, mix it with the flour mixture until just mixed. Then fold in the cheese. This makes about 5 good size biscuits. Bake them at 350 for 18-20 minutes.
