There’s something about mixing the best of two worlds together in a delicious dinner idea. This bacon cheeseburger casserole is not only a delightful way to cure that cheeseburger craving but it’s keto and low carb friendly! You won’t believe how delicious this bacon cheeseburger casserole tastes!

Oh, are you wondering what to have for dinner on a ketogenic diet? This bacon cheeseburger casserole is surely worth a try for dinner tonight! With the delicious blend of beef, cheddar cheese, onion, mustard, mayo and dill pickles as well as bacon, did someone say bacon?! You’ll totally enjoy serving this for dinner on a ketogenic diet. The fun thing about my bacon cheeseburger casserole is that my family doesn’t even know it’s low carb and keto-friendly, so it’s a total win/win scenario.

The obvious answer to a frequently asked question of whether or not you can eat hamburger on keto diet is yes. Yes, you can eat hamburger on keto diet. Beef yields zero grams of carbs per five ounces, for the most part, making it one of the many meat options that you can enjoy on keto. Other meat that’s keto-friendly includes poultry, lamb, veal, and venison. Just make sure to check your macros.

What cheese can you eat on keto?

There are many different types of cheese you can eat on keto. Today I’m featuring cheddar cheese in my bacon cheeseburger casserole but if you’re whipping up something different you can also enjoy cream cheese, American cheese, and ricotta cheese on keto. I highly recommend you stick with my recommendation of cheddar cheese for this bacon cheeseburger casserole as it has the best flavor combination with the beef and bacon mixture.

Some people feel that being keto and low carb is difficult, and while I understand because it can sound intimidating to “go on a diet” the keto diet isn’t really that restrictive. You can enjoy many delicious meal ideas on keto and stay low carb too. The basic rule of thumb with your keto diet is to eat no more than 20 grams of carbs per day. If your goal is to go low carb, you can have more carbs, but may not hit ketosis. You can still lose weight though. While you may have to track your carb intake at first, over a short period of time you’ll begin to find your favorite keto dinner ideas and meal options that work for your low carb keto diet.

Eventually, you’ll find that the keto diet is relatively easy and offers you a chance to still enjoy some of your favorite meals with just a slight variation. And I’ve got quite a few ideas to get you started:

Bacon Cheeseburger Casserole - Keto / Low Carb

Yield: 8 servings


  • 2 lbs ground beef
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup chopped cooked bacon
  • 1/2 cup sliced dill pickles
  • 1/2 cup chopped onion
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 1/3 cup yellow mustard


    1. Mix the ground beef and eggs in a medium bowl. Spread the mixture in the bottom of a 9x13 baking
      casserole - pat it down firmly and into the corners
    2. Mix the mayonnaise and mustard in a small bowl. Spread the mixture evenly over the beef.
    3. Sprinkle the cheese and bacon over the casserole.
    4. Top with sliced pickles and chopped onions.
    5. Bake at 375 degrees for 1 hour. Suction any excess oil out before serving.
