Crazy Cat Toys

DJ-Kitty – I have to believe a cat would never play with this – or would he?

My son – the cat guy in the family – found these crazy cat toys on Amazon.  And these are crazy.  Someone had fun thinking these up…  Our cat would love the plane and tank.  He loves any box, but somehow I think the coolness would be lost on him.  He’d love the Amazon box these came in.

Here’s more…

Aviator Kitty – who said kitties can’t fly?

Battlefield Kitty – just crazy

Art of Animation Resort at Disney Social Media Moms

Later on, when my kid has grown up a bit and can fully appreciate everything Disney ahs to offer- I’m talking like 3-4 years old?- I hope we can stay at the new Art of Animation Resort! It is a new value priced suite and standard room resort Disney is building in the Hollywood Studios area, opening next month! It truly is a place that was built around kids.  As part of the Disney Social Media Moms celebration, we were invited to a dinner/tour of the facilities.

The colors in the theme are very bright and reflect the four main movies, each having their own area on the resort: The Lion King, Cars, The Little Mermaid, and Finding Nemo. Just so you can grasp how colorful this resort is, here’s a picture of the ladies room in the lobby:

Nice and pink huh? There’s a life-size picture of Ariel right as you enter and exit, so you know it was a room built for princesses to do their business.

Our event took place pool-side in the Finding Nemo area, which is pretty much to coolest pool you could think of. There’s a really fun splash zone where kids can run through fountains that randomly shoot up from the ground, as well as a large pool that was super tempting to get in, however, it wasn’t allowed at the event (not to mention I totally forgot to bring my suit!!). While hanging out at the pool, you’re accompanied by your friends, Nemo and Crush as well as some large Jellies floating above water (don’t worry, they won’t sting you!).

Fun for kids, fun for adults.  If you have an aversion to bright happy colors then this might not be the place for you, but we give it a big thumbs up.

We were invited to the Disney Social Media Moms celebration and received our trip at substantially reduced rate.

Pampers Limited Edition “USA” diapers and wipes and the 2012 Olympics

Oh this is fun.  We got our first diapers in the mail the other day.  And not just diapers, but Limited Edition USA diapers for the 2012 Olympics.

I think we’re having a gymnast based on how much little peanut was moving around at the ultrasound!

Of course baby isn’t wearing anything yet, but these are waiting for the little peanut when he/she gets older.

Pampers recently launched a Facebook sweepstakes in honor of the event. Now through May 19th, y’all can visit the “Team USA Sweeps” tab on the Pampers Facebook page ( and register for a chance to win the grand prize trip for a family of four to attend the London 2012 Olympic Games and attend the first ever Pampers Playground event alongside Team USA Hopeful, Kerri Walsh, and her husband and sons. The recipient of the grand prize trip to the London 2012 Olympic Games will be drawn on May 19th. Additionally, Pampers will be randomly selecting weekly winners between now and August 12th to receive a prize pack consisting of one month’s supply of Pampers Limited Edition “USA” diapers and wipes as well as a souvenir volleyball signed by Kerri Walsh.

We’re all excited in this house about the Summer Games and can’t wait to cheer on the USA athletes.  My girls were both gymnasts so we’ll be especially tuned in to those competitions!

Now for you… so your baby butt can cheer on the USA this summer!!

I’m giving away a set of the diapers (Size 3 only) and wipes myself.

My contest is also on Facebook – on my Linneyville page – so enter there.  I’ll be choosing the winner on May 10, 2011 at midnight.  Only US 18+ can enter.  Winner will be contacted on May 11 and have 48 hours to respond.

Enter HERE – leave me a comment here or on Facebook to let me know you entered!

Experiencing the Beach & Yacht Club at Disney Social Media Moms

I can’t believe I was lucky enough to be included in this year’s celebration.  We are still at Disney enjoying a few days of vacation, but the highlight will definitely be the celebration itself.  And experiencing this with Maggie has been like seeing it through the eyes of a child.  We’ve stayed at both the Yacht and Beach clubs this visit and the rooms are made for families, even families of big kids.  Plenty of room to move around and throw all the stuff around.

Which we do very well.

This was “PRE” throw your stuff all over the floor.  Shocked I was able to capture…

The pool is the nicest I’ve seen at Disney offering that beach feel, complete with sand in the wading pool!

We also enjoyed the view of the water and the Boardwalk across the way.

The character breakfast at Cape May restaurant was fab and it was so convenient to have it right downstairs.  We could come back to the room for a few to indulge our food coma.

Probably my favorite reason to stay at the Beach / Yacht club is the ease of being able to walk to Epcot.  It was wonderful to not worry about busses or other transportation.  We headed over last night for a quick dinner and are back for an afternoon of rides and shopping.

Definitely a resort we would return to.

Disclosure – I was invited by Disney for the Disney Social Media Moms Celebration who covered some of my expenses.  All opinions are my own.

Hellmann’s Chicken Cordon Bleu Chicken Change-Up

Last post in the Hellmanns’s Chicken Change-Up and this was an easy choice.  My mom used to make Chicken Cordon Bleu, and let me tell you that was quite a treat.  She didn’t cook much – we ate out a lot.  The joke at the dinner table was that my parents were afraid I’d go over to a friend’s house and ask to see a menu.

Ok, that was the truth tho.  So making something that sounded so fancy?  I’m not sure what her recipe was, but this recipe is so easy.  You won’t even believe it!

Here is my quick and easy Chicken Cordon Bleu – quick.  easy.  thank you.  Hellmanns.

Cookin’ up 7 weeks of baby

So my seventh week is  over. Its weird to think, in a week  and a half I will go back to the doctor and get my first ultrasound!

So far, this week has been killer…

I’ve been feeling super duper tired, to the point that I find it hard to walk up three flights of stairs to my class. Or even the 20 steps from car to the first floor class…

Morning sickness has kinda come to me all day, everyday. I’ve stocked up on saltines and heard ginger root supplements can help when nausea strikes, so I have some of those on hand wherever I go.

It’s made working hard. You might not know it, but being a host is EXHAUSTING. This is especially true when I want to go to bed at 9:30, but I’m stuck at Applebee’s until it slows down. I get very little sitting time, but my managers have worked around my situation, allowing me to eat if A. it is slow and B. I’m starving.

Which is actually most of the time. I feel like my body has two moods, hungry and sick. I don’t have cravings really, just extreme hunger, sometimes accompanied by nausea, which makes me afraid to eat, really. I don’t like throwing up, so I avoid greasy fast food at all costs.

But all of this will be worth it. I head to Disney next week (AHHH) for a little business/ vay-cay with mom and It just makes me so excited to one day share with my child the Magical World of DISNEY (imkindaobsessed).

My next update will be FROM Disney!  How cool is that?

Hellmann’s Chicken Change-Up Budget Friendly Herb Chicken

Some days I have 2 minutes to decide what’s for dinner (mostly because I forgot to take something out of the freezer) and get it in the oven.  In that two minutes I also have to make sure that what I’m pulling from the pantry isn’t going to break the bank especially in weeks when money is tight.  Which is most weeks.  Keeping staples in the kitchen like bread crumbs, herbs and mayo are key.

Wait, I just said bread crumbs didn’t I?  Wasn’t I looking for that last time?

This week the recipe I chose uses those dang crumbs again. *blinks*

I do happen to have a box of club crackers and a food processor.  I’m winging it again people!

Hellmann’s is hosting the Chicken Change-Up and here’s a great budget friendly recipe.

Who needs to fry chicken… I bring you:

Oven Roasted Herb Chicken

adapted from the Hellmann’s site

  • 1/2 cup plain dry bread crumbs (I used finely chopped crackers)
  • 3/4 tsp. garlic salt
  • 1/2 tsp. dried oregano, parsley or rosemary leaves, crushed
  • 1/4 tsp. ground black pepper
  • 2 lbs. chicken skinless chicken tenderloins
  • 1/2 cup Hellmann’s® or Best Foods® Mayonnaise Dressing with Extra Virgin Olive Oil

  1. Preheat oven to 400°.
  2. Combine bread crumbs, garlic salt, herbs and black pepper in shallow dish; set aside.
  3. Add chicken and Hellmann’s® or Best Foods® Extra Virgin Olive Oil Mayonnaise to large plastic bag; shake to evenly coat. Remove chicken, then lightly dip in crumb mixture. Arrange chicken on cookie sheet.
  4. Bake 40 minutes or until chicken is thoroughly cooked. Also terrific with Hellmann’s® Real Mayonnaise.

So moist and sweet – and the crackers give it that perfect salty flavor.  I think I’ll forget the bread crumbs more often!

Hellmann’s Chicken Change-Up Time Savers

If you know one thing about me, it’s that I cook on the quick.  I’m not one to spend hours in the kitchen.  Never have been and probably never will.

I mean seriously Pinterest is waiting.

I have an arsenal of quick fix meals, and many involve chicken.  I love chicken but I don’t like PLAIN chicken.  Gotta have some flavah!  One of the best recipes that I have found is Hellmann’s Parmesan Crusted Chicken.  Easy peasy to make and so delish, juicy and full of flavor.  I wanted to make it for this post that I’m writing as part of the “Chicken Change-Up” with Hellmann’s and One2One Network…

… but I was out of bread crumbs.

And since making breadcrumbs FROM SCRATCH would require me to be in the kitchen for OH I DON’T KNOW MAYBE AN EXTRA HALF HOUR I tried to find something else that would work…

Remember, I might get repinned and I need to be there.

I found the half bag of tortilla chips which were mostly crushed from the other night when I HAD TO HAVE SALSA and started crushing them even more.

I realized that I needed to grab the camera b/c I might need to pin that bag IN HDR.

NOPE, my hand looks a little scary.  HDR is not a good look for me.

So I mixed the crushed tortilla chips with Hellmann’s Mayonnaise and a little parmesan (enough to cover my 2 chicken breasts), spread it on the chicken and baked it at 350 degrees for 40 min.

MAYBE 10 minutes prep if you DON’T count the time I checked my Pinterest app on my phone.

And it was delish and juicy and flavorful.  And maybe PINNABLE.

Celebrity Chef Tim Love DOES have breadcrumbs and you can see him make that recipe here.

And then tell me – how do you juggle feeding your family with the demands of Pinterest????

I’m participating in a sponsored campaign with Hellmann’s and One2One Network and received mayo and other fun stuff.  All opinions and salsa cravings are MY OWN.
