It’s hard to know when my actual start date was because the week after Christmas I ate a lot of things I shouldn’t have. It’s more like “Week 2 with a one week break in between”. Either way, here’s what I did last week and how it’s going.

I’ll start by saying I’m down 7.5 lbs. That’s huge for me. I’ve tried so many diets or eating styles in the past and while I loved some of them (Whole30 for instance) I never felt the emotional stability to take it on long term and struggled the whole time. Also never made it past about 3 weeks or so on anything.

What’s different now? I tackled the emotional side of things before I decided to diet. That always held me back and stress eating always took over. Once I worked on the emotions, cravings diminished and stress eating was under control. I guess it’s called stress eating for a reason :)

Integrating essential oils into my life was the first step I took for emotional support – that was back in September. In addition to oils for emotional support, I added some of the oils for weight management – grapefruit vitality and cinnamon bark vitality – as a part of my daily regime.

The second was a self help book called The Power of Now, which helps you focus on now, getting your mind out of the future and the past, and provides a sense of peace and wellbeing.

Now that I’m feeling kinda zen-ish :D I feel a different sense of me that makes me feel like I can tackle something this big. Truth? I have about 100 lbs I’d like to lose. So that 7.5 is a start, but it’s only the beginning.

The big thing about January resolutions – it may or may not take. I’m participating in a 120 day challenge, so I’m trying to be as public as possible to hold me accountable for at least 4 months.

Keto – that’s why you are here, right?

  • We’ve found a few new recipes we love and can’t live without. Keto cookies being our favorite.
  • Electrolytes. I have them every day in my water along with the grapefruit vitality essential oil.
  • Exercise – I’m starting slow. Going from nothing to something means that any little bit is better than before. I’m doing some resistance exercises to target certain muscle groups. Working my way up to cardio. Those of you who know me know that I’m prone to breaking or spraining things, so excessive moving still has me a little skittish.
