Turn any photo into a circle shape or circle avatar with Picmonkey.
Bloggers and social media fans (although anyone will love this tip!) – you know the cool circle avatars that people have in their bios? There are tutorials all over the web telling you how to create them in Photoshop.
Ain’t nobody got time or money for that.
it’s super easy to turn any photo into a blog avatar or social avatar in our favorite FREE software, Picmonkey. Here’s how.
Open a photo and crop it to a square.
(now see above image)
Frames > Rounded Corners
Take the slider for Corner Radius all the way to the right. Click the transparent corner box and apply. Remember to save as a PNG if you want a transparent background. Of it you know your background color (white is the default) you can set it here too.
It’s not just for photos. You could make your own social media icons too! Google will tell you the font you need to match or come close to the Twitter “T” or Facebook “F”, or you can just use one that’s similar.
Or you can type the name in. I found the Twitter blue… the hex code is: 55acee
…and typed the name in using a font that would match my blog.
Easy peasy. Saved as 64px, but you might want 32px or smaller. Again, save as a PNG so the background is transparent. Or match your background color.
What else can you make into a circle image?
Imagine – holiday ornaments, party decorations, printed stickers. So many ideas.
