I’m excited to announce….

I’ve been invited to be a Shaklee 180™ Blogger.  Cue the extra exclamation points!!!!!

I’m losing weight with Shaklee 180 ™ and blogging my 6 month (YES I SAID 6 MONTHS) journey.  I’ve struggled with weight ever since the babies were young.  I never found the motivation to lose after each baby and so the weight kept piling on and on.

I’m obese.  Pure and simple.  I have no excuses and I’m not going to blame it on anyone or anything but me.

I could blame trouble in my childhood or a failed marriage or supersized America, but that would be a cop out.  I can succeed in so many things and I do.  The blog.  Building a new career for myself.  Raising amazing children.  But what I could never do is put down the food.  What I could never do is commit to exercising.

When I heard about this program I questioned whether or not I should participate.  The diet consists of 2 shakes (meal bars are also an option) a day.  I had to eat one healthy meal.  Healthy.  That sounds hard.  I’m not paid.  I’m sent product for the month which covers 2 meals a day and a few snacks.  I’ll write one post and do one video per month.

Full disclosure.  I’m nervous.  I have about 100 lbs to lose.  I don’t think I can do that.  If I can get out of  the Plus Size clothes I’ll be happy at this point.  That’s not that scary a goal.

So now about Shaklee.

I’d wanted to try a shake diet for some time.  The only products I’d found had artificial sweeteners in them and I get headaches with even the slightest taste.  Shaklee does not and therefore does the trick.

It’s not that it’s easy, but it’s easier than I thought it would be so far.  I like the shakes.  In fact I like them a lot.  The vanilla reminds me of a powered shake from my childhood so there’s some familiarity with them.  I haven’t tried modifying them much, but friends who are doing this with me talk of adding spices, flavors and fruit to make their own designer shakes.  I might try that at some point.

I’m 3 weeks in and I’m down 7.5 lbs.  I haven’t done my measurements since the beginning,  so I don’t know the inches lost yet.  I can tell in the way my clothing fits that yes, this is working.

Do I want a whole cheesecake and a bag of Lays potato chips?  Heck yes.  But for now I’m plugging away.

This is my official BEFORE shot.  I’ll take the same photo each month and we’ll see how I progress.  Yes you are seeing the real me.  No photoshop or makeup.

Wish me luck!

I’ll be back next week to update you on how the first month went,  and share more details on the Shaklee 180 ™ program.

Disclaimer: This is a sponsored post as part of the Shaklee Corporation blogger program. I have received free products, online support, and incentives for participating. My opinions are my own.

People following the weight-loss portion of the Shaklee 180™ Program can expect to lose 1-2 pounds per week.
