September is Baby Safety Month

Chicco Child and Infant Seats and Boosters

…and this past week was also Child Passenger Safety Week, making it the perfect time to share this infographic from Chicco, a manufacturer of baby gear – child seats, strollers, high chairs and more.  With our little guy almost here it’s important that we know how to correctly install a car seat.  I’ll be honest – when my kids were young I can remember rocking the infant seat back and forth in the seat trying to figure out if I had it in the right position.  We didn’t have the bases that made it so much easier.

I plan on getting it right this time with no uncertainty.

Know about car seats, installation and car seat safety

And believe me, our little guy will be IN the appropriate seat until he’s big enough to fly solo with just the seatbelt.  Who knows, it may be age 18 by then and that’s ok with Granny.  I’d wrap him in bubble wrap if it weren’t so sweaty.

Not really but maybe…..

Check out the infographic (you can click here to make it full size to read it easier) and check out what Chicco is doing on Facebook and follow the action on twitter with the hashtag #ChiccoSafety.   And check out your children’t seats to make sure you’ve got them in the right seat at the right age!

My husband is a firefighter and he sees carseats installed wrong all the time. Very sad. You’re sweet to help educate parents.

I am sure we had the kids sitting in the wrong car seat position, there is so much great info available today!

My 19 month old is still rear facing and will remain so well past age 2. She is tiny.

And even more don’t have their car seats installed properly. I have a friend who is a certified car seat inspector and I had her teach my husband and I how to properly install the seats. I was horrified to learn that my oldest’s seats were never done right.

Great infographic. My daughter is 4 and she will be in a 5 point harness as long as she meets the guidelines for the seat. She also rear-faced until 2.

It’s amazing how many people get the seats wrong.

How funny would it be if your little one actually did use a car seat through high school graduation!
