Crunchy Baked Chickpeas (Garbonzo Beans)

When I was young, we went to Williamsburg, VA for the weekend at least once if not twice a year.  There was a candy story that we visited but it wasn’t the candy that I loved.  It was the dried chickpeas.   I noticed that my friend Rachel made some the other day and I decided to re-create my childhood memory.

I rinsed and dried off 2 cans of chickpeas.  I spread them in a single layer on a baking sheet, sprayed with Pam olive oil spray and baked for 40 minutes at 400 degrees.  You want to make sure they are crunchy.  Once they are removed, sprinkle them with salt (to taste) and VOILA!

These are better than chips and definitely better than candy for us salty people.
