It’s no wonder we all love the internet.  In social media it’s so easy to automate your life.  Install a wordpress plugin and your blog posts auto tweet.  Push a button and your photos go to flickr, twitter, facebook and posterous.  Your status can be in 1947893 places at once and you only push one button to get it there.

If only real life was that easy.

I want the plugin that takes out the trash.  The widget that walks the dog, picks up the poop and takes it to the outside garbage can.  Without me leaving the chair.  Oh and have it bring me a beer when it’s done.

Is that too much to ask?

Why are we geeking out trying to find ways to automate our info online when we still can’t completely automate our home life.  Case in point… I STILL have to unload the dishwasher and put the dishes away.  I have 10 remotes and not one of them can run the car out to get dinner for me.  I scratch my own itches and put on my own makeup.

We are bass ackawards if you ask me.  We’re working on improving the things that are easy instead of making easy the things that are a real pill.   I’m done bragging about how easy my online experience is only to come home and have to scrub a toilet.  We upload our files, phosos, videos… our life into the clouds, but we can’t stop the clouds from raining on us when we forget our umbrella.

I know I shouldn’t complain about everything… I mean not all online events translate well to real life and if they did would be a PITA.

“That You Tube of you when you were a kid belching the alphabet has 1 million views!”  You never would have performed with such accuracy if  that many people had been watching you live.

“Oh my photo went viral on Reddit and now a ton of traffic is coming to my site.”  Yeah, I definitely don’t need 30,000 people dropping by my house to tell me my cat is cute.

Unless they bring beer.

I know I can’t have it both ways.  But if you ever find an app for that let me know.

We all have our wishes for an easier life… What do you wish you could automate with one button?

I’d like a automated vacation button. Anytime we need one we can just press and zip off to a cruise or something :)

I want a machine that will pick the hubby up out of the bed and throw him on the couch with a blanket when he’s snoring in my ear, so that I don’t have to nudge him to turn over or find someplace else for me to sleep.

I’d like to automate nursing babies and changing diapers! Thanks for the laugh. Merry Christmas!
