It’s a Chocolate Chip Cookie Muffin.. or a Chocolate Chip Cookie Cupcake. Wait…It’s a candybar – it’s a cookie – a cupcake? or is it a muffin???
I love all recipes with chocolate chips. When I made these I had someone say “the person who decided to put a candy bar inside a cookie is genius.” That someone was my daughter’s boyfriend and he was probably sucking up to his girlfriend’s mother. STILL. I had to tell him that I didn’t come up with the idea, but I can’t remember where I got it, so I can’t give proper credit. This is a ton of chocolate so be prepared for choco-overload.
I did spray the pan with PAM to start. I pat a spoonful of chocolate chip cookie dough into the bottom/sides of a muffin cup. Then add a mini candy bar, unwrapped of course, to each – easy to buy the assorted bags and have a candy “surprise” in each one. I used Twix, Reeses, Snickers and Milky Ways. You could use any chocolate candy, in fact Rolos and Junior Mints would be fab. The next time I make these I would also use mini chips in the cookie dough to make it easier to work with.
Cover the candy with another small spoonful of dough and bake according to your cookie directions – maybe a tad longer if you use a lot of dough. Take them out EASILY once the cool and serve them as is or cut in half like I did above … if you use different candy’s each guest can try to guess which candy is inside.
