I’ve always bragged that I have good eyesight all the while knowing it was a matter of time.  I’ve needed reading glasses since I was 39 – it was supposed to be until 40 *statistically speaking* but I like to jump the gun on stuff like that.  When I turned 50 I noticed that signs were looking a little blurry (mainly Starbucks *shudders*).   Well they’d been blurry for a few years but I ignored the obvious.

It was time to get glasses.

Oh you don’t want bifocals, you want PROGRESSIVE LENSES I was told.  Ok whatever, as long as I don’t look any older than I already am.

I look smarter right?

Here’s the thing about progressives.  You can only see in the middle of the lens.  The sides of the lenses i.e. peripheral vision is blurry. You have to move your head up and down *tilts chin* until you find the sweet spot.  They forget to mention that before you blow your credit limit on your card to buy them.  And honestly all that nodding – I’m not that agreeable… *duh*

Google tells me it will take up to two weeks to get used to them.

That’s like 2 years when you are my age…

They have the cutest pink case though *slaps on silver lining* which is cute and preppy.  So even if I look like an aging dowager who has to point her nose in the direction she wants to look all the time now, I can still sass it up.

I figure if I walk around waving the Kate Spade case in everyone’s face,  no one will notice my specks… you think?

*bonks head*

Sometimes I amaze myself…

    They’re cute. Love the case-RED!

We were having dinner out the other night and I couldn’t see clearly something about twenty feet away. Aging stinks.
