Jamaica is one island that I have visited several times – either on vacations or as a cruise port of call.

I experience something new every time.  This trip (sponsored by the Jamaica Tourist Board) was located in Montego Bay and Negril.  Two cities I had not visited before.  I started the trip by meeting someone who would become a great friend, Tami from Talking with Tami and  I knew pretty quickly we’d be friends for life.

We travelled to the RIU Resort in Montego Bay, our home for the next two nights and chatted like school girls who had known each other forever.

Then we arrived and got out of the van…

…and….

…after we got over the initial shock of NOT BEING ABLE TO BREATHE IN THE HUMIDITY AND HEAT we put on our suits for a little beach action.

I know I’m whining – I’m in Jamaica on a beach with palm trees and crystal clear ocean and summer breezes in my face…

I’m definitely not thinking about cats at this point…

HEAT? WHAT HEAT?

So Tami is one smart girl. She decided we were thirsty – HOW DID SHE KNOW – and brought us back two daiquiris and the week of rum began!

Isn’t she cute smiling like that?

We drank those down and made our way to the pool at the RIU Resort.

This was only the first day and already I have a new BFF, free drinks at an all inclusive resort, sand in my toes and broken sunglasses and WHO EVEN CARES?

Broken Glasses OH NO

It’s Jamaica Mon…

And those weren’t my glasses – just a cool photo I took…

But I swore off diving from that moment on.

It was time to get our junket on, so we headed back to our rooms and enjoyed one of many beautiful sunsets that I would see while in Jamaica.  I could have (and did) photograph them every day.

I have so much to share – people and places. Check out my flickr as I am adding new photos every day and definitely check back here for more posts. I want to thank the Jamaica Tourist Board for inviting me and sharing their island with me.

Jamaica is on my Life List of places to visit. I’ve been on three cruises but neither took the route through Jamaica. Either Bahamas or Mexico. The sunsets look beautiful! Glad to hear you had a blast.

Linda the trip looks like so much fun and it is great to see more organizations reaching out to bloggers to help get the word out. Not that we need to be reminded how cool Jamaica is :) So glad you had a blast and made new friends!

Thanks Brittany! The JTB is fabulous and so gracious to invite us to tour the island. The people are truly one of the country’s best assets. – post coming with cool photos of the people we met.
