I’ve made a move to healthier eating this year… cutting back on sweets or striving for a more balanced diet. I know I need more fiber in my diet, which experts tell us can come from whole grains, vegetables and fruits – to help support digestive system and maintain immunity. The American Dietetic Association will tell you that most women only get about half the recommended daily allowance of fiber. I’m sure I’m in that group.

When I was a young adult I had severe issues with “movement” shall we say and had to go on a high – in fact OVERKILL – fiber diet to jumpstart things back into the groove. But over the years I’ve started to rely more on fast foods which tend to not be fiber rich.
